South Side Family Farms Services & Programs
Our passion is to nurture the well-being of our South Side community through cultivation, collaboration, and conversation. Our farms are a place to meet your neighbors, relax, and have some gardening fun! We are planning now for our 2021 programs. They will feature hands-on teaching in the gardens, interactive learning about proper nutrition, and how to cook delicious recipes with your harvest. We will share the fruits of our labor with all in our community through our community supported agriculture
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
South Side Family Farms participates in Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). It is an affordable way to bring fresh food access to all homes in our South Side community. We began offering the CSA in 2020 and look forward to sharing our harvest with you in 2021. Our youth will participate in the growing and harvesting of our bounty and deliver it to your door. We are planning to include SNAP benefits and will share information on how to sign up for this program at a later date.
We are also planning to offer:
- Virtual conversations about social food issues and the food sovereignty we are dealing in our community and how to overcome them.
- Hands-on gardening tips
- Cooking demonstrations and education
- Nutritional and dietary awareness to address chronic health disease
- A neighborhood farm stand
Please continue to stay in touch for more information about our 2021 programs.
